David LeRoy Smith was born on September 12, 1946 the son of Alfred and Maxine (Munroe) Smith, and passed away May 24, 2016 at the age of 69. David was a 1965 graduate of Haslett High School and he proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was employed with the State of Michigan and a retired after 20 years of service. David loved auctions and traveling, especially the Upper Peninsula. He loved his family very much and enjoyed spending time with them.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Roger W. Duncan and John H. Duncan. Surviving to cherish his memory are his daughter, Tracy (David) McDade; sister, LeeAnn (Shaun) Dickey and Dianne Smith; sister-in-law Lonna Duncan and his fiance` Cheri Thompson and several nieces and nephews.
