

Dolores Dell Rhoades (Dunn/Kranz) age 87, passed away August 26, 2017 after a long and brave struggle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was born in Mount Vernon, Ohio to Opie A. and Pauline (nee Chambers) Dunn and resided in Okemos and Williamston most of her adult life.
Dolores was a remarkably kind soul who loved to be with family and friends. Her compassion and love will be greatly missed. Always fondly attentive to children, she was a wonderful hostess and a sharp card player, nearly to the end. She enjoyed many trips throughout the United States and Mexico and loved going to casinos. Sometimes known as Dee, she proudly worked for Premier Cattle Company as a bookkeeper. She loved swing dancing and big band era music. She was an organizer for her Okemos High School Class Reunion for many years, a graduate of the class of 1948.
Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, brother Donald Dunn, first husband of 39 years, Max Kranz, and grandson Christopher Kranz. She is survived by her children Steve (Cindy) Kranz, Michael (Shelley) Kranz and Paula (Jerome) Brzezinski. She is also survived by her devoted husband of 23 years, C. Dallas Rhoades, his children Dawn Jennings, Dale Rhoades, Dean Rhoades, grandchildren, Jenni (Cody) Weston, Ted (Ashleigh) Jennings, Ben(Brittany) Jennings, Terri(Michael) Wright, Nicole (Travis) Lycos, Thomas Kranz, Brendan(Amanda) O'Donnell, Alex (Cara) Kranz, Melissa Bishop, Shannon(Blaine) Kesler, and 14 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Dolores’s life will be held at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home, East Lansing Chapel, 1730 E. Grand River Avenue, East Lansing, MI 48823 on Thursday, August 31, 2017 at 11am. Interment will follow in the afternoon at Maple Ridge Cemetery, 4149 Willoughby Road, Holt Michigan 48842. Visitation will begin on Wednesday, August 30th from 2-4pm and 6-8pm and Thursday, August 31st from 10-11am.
