Elizabeth Lucille Phillips

Visitation will be held on Monday, February 26th at Ascension Lutheran Church, 2780 Haslett Road, East Lansing, MI 48823 from 12:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A service will be held at the church at 7:00 pm.

Burial will take place at a future date with the family at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI.

Betty was born in Newark, NJ to George and Elizabeth Elsey on February 4, 1939. She graduated from Trenton State College (now The College of New Jersey). She worked as a teacher for many school districts for years as she travelled the world, eventually meeting her husband in Panama while teaching on the local Army base. She married James Bradley (Brad) Phillips on September 15, 1970 in Gate City, VA. She raised her family and returned to school in 1987 to receive her Masters of Education from Eastern Michigan University.

Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Brad.

Betty is survived by her sons, James (Julie) and Bill (Amanda) and her grandchildren, Elizabeth, Sabrina, Amelia and Bradley.
