East Lansing, formerly of Trenton, Michigan
Fran, our loving Mother, Grandmother and Great-grandmother passed away peacefully on Friday,
October 28, 2011. She was attended to by her two daughters, Doreen and Karen, and her passing
was beautiful, calm and loving.
Angelo Angelocci and Agatha (Cima) Angelocci, Fran’s parents, were immigrants from Civita
Castellana, Italy. The Angelocci Family settled in the Sibley community, just
north of Trenton. Fran had the good fortune of having many brothers and sisters. She was preceded
in death by her brothers Samuel, John, Lawrence (Hack), and her sister California (Kelly) Cottage.
Fran’s sister, Remegia Nalli, and youngest brother, Angelo Angelocci, survive and reside in Chelsea.
Fran was born on September 28, 1924 in the downriver area of Detroit, raised in the community of
Sibley, and graduated from Trenton High School in 1942. In 1944 Fran married Wayne S. Willett.
Together they had three children, Karen, Bruce and Doreen. Fran was smart and hard working. In
her early working life she worked for the telephone company in downtown Detroit. When she
started her family she went to work for the Chrysler plant south of Trenton. Years later she had the
opportunity to work for the Ford Motor Company and moved to the Dearborn
area to be closer to work and to the Henry Ford Community College, where she obtained her AA
degree. Fran found her work at Ford enjoyable and after 40 years with the company she retired and
relocated to Lansing to be close to her daughter, Doreen Woodward.
In her full life of 87 years, Fran was a fun-loving, spirited woman who loved to play cards, fish, hunt,
dance and have a good time at whatever she was doing. She particularly reveled when she beat her
grandchildren playing Euchre, try as they might to win!
Fran was preceded in death by her son, Bruce Willett. Surviving are her two daughters, Doreen (Thomas)
Woodward and Karen (Rick) Hausman; four grandchildren, Megan Willett, Nathan (Gina) Willett, Ian Woodward
and Evan Woodward;two great-granddaughters, Corinne Willett and Gia Willett.
