

George F. Robinson of Brighton, formerly of Lansing, MI, age 69, passed away November 17. He was born in Claremont, Illinois on February 6, 1946 to Norris and Vivian Robinson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his three older brothers – Charles, Robert, and Michael Robinson. He is survived by his wife, Ann; his son, Tony; his daughter-in-law, Amy; his three granddaughters; and many relatives and friends. George graduated from Southern Illinois University in 1968 with a degree in finance. He served in the U.S. Army 1969-1971 and he completed a tour of duty in the Republic of Vietnam 1970-1971. After his military service, he moved to Michigan where he was self-employed in the oil and gas industry and was later involved in a telecommunication company. He served as President of the Michigan Association of Petroleum Landmen (MAPL). George was an avid golfer and he was a volunteer coach for boy’s baseball and basketball teams in the Catholic Youth League through St. Casimir parish, Lansing. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society, c/o St. Joseph Church, 440 E. Washington St., Howell, MI 48843 or to the charity of your choice. The family will greet friends at a Memorial Visitation on Friday November 20, 2015 from 4:00 – 7:00pm at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home 1730 E. Grand River Ave., East Lansing, Michigan.
