Gloria Ann Assid

On Saturday, March 25, 2023 Gloria (Hinkley) Assid (age 93) died peacefully in her home in Okemos, MI, where she lived for 68 years. Survived by her son, Douglas Assid, he said: “The day before she passed, she was able to see the first crocus plants coming up in her garden. Flowers and everything in nature brought her great joy.” Gloria is also survived by her sister, June Billar, son, Steve Assid, daughters, Linda Gardner and Joan Assid, 10 grandchildren (Maggie, Jennifer, Alicia, Cory, Alex, Matt, Lindsey, Jared, Kelly and Eric) and 16 great grandchildren (Jacob, Olivia, Sophia, Reese, Braxton, Carden, Sam, McCoy, Joseph, Jacob, Avery, Beau,Jack, Ellie Sue, Murphy and Harlon). She was greeted in heaven by her daughter, Susan Griggs and husband, Joe Assid, along with her parents Dale and Pearl Hinkley. The things in life that brought her the greatest joy were her kids, grand kids, gardening, traveling, exercising and family memories in Northern Michigan. Gloria was beloved in the Okemos and East Lansing community for her patronage at B/A Florist and Panera Bread. She also had a sweet tooth and might have kept See's Candy in business.
