Jeanne Marie Cooper of Okemos passed away on January 12, 2011 at the age of 88. She was born
February 14, 1922 in Waukon, Iowa the daughter of Jake and Grace (Simon) Davis. She attended St.
Francis School of Nursing in Evanston, IL and Loyola University in Chicago, IL and received her R.N. in 1943. Jeanne enlisted as a registered nurse in the U.S. Army in 1944 and was assigned to the 166th Field Hospital in the European Theater of Operations. After the war, she worked as an R.N. in Illinois,
Colorado, California and St. Lawrence Mental Health Hospital in Lansing, MI. Jeanne is survived by her
husband of 59 years Glen; daughters Diane Geiler of San Diego, CA and Debra Hunter (Wayne) of
Arlington, TX; grandson Jake Geiler and granddaughters Sheila Jones (Tyler) and Monica Hunter. The
family will receive friends at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 1730 East Grand River, East
Lansing, MI on Sunday from 6-8 P.M. with a Rosary service at 7:00 P.M. A Funeral Mass will be
conducted Monday, January 17, 2011 at 11 A.M. with visitation 1 hour prior at St. Martha Parish, 1100
W. Grand River, Okemos, MI with Rev. Jonathan Wehrle officiating followed by committal at St. Joseph
Catholic Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Martha Parish or Great Lakes Hospice,
