Aged 93, was welcomed into the arms of his loving Savior on June 26, 2017.
John was born September 9, 1923 to John and Marie (Oakes) Parks in Perry Township. He graduated from Perry High School in 1941 and then spent 3 years in the Air Force until WWII ended. His life’s work was as a car hauler, a heavy equipment operator, and playing lead guitar in a band. John married Maxine MeGill in 1953 and they had 48 ½ years together before her passing in 2002. He took great pride in his yard and his flowers and enjoyed long walks and helping others.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Charles and his sister, Virginia, his stepchildren, Steve MeGill and Teresa Hudnut, and two great-nephews Andrew Hill and Dan Randall.
Surviving John are his sister, Mae (Carl) Hill; nephew, Steve Hill; niece, Sharon Hill; and many friends, especially the staff of Hazel Findlay Country Manor and his physical therapy group. The love and care he received was outstanding and he loved all of you.
To honor John’s wishes, there will be no services. Following cremation, he will be interred in Bath Cemetery.
