John..I am so sorry to hear of your Mother's passing. I met her a number of years ago at your Grandfather and Grandmother's house in Palm Bay, Florida when she had come down to assist Nancy with your Grandparent's affairs. After that i had several nice conversations with your Mom over the phone. I also spoke to you once on your cell phone. I know that she was a very devout Catholic and will surely be rewarded by God. May She Be In Heaven.
Sincerely
Bob Roma

Living alone in a remote area of the Upper Penninsula, phone calls are a very good way of passing time and keeping in touch with friends and family .
Kris...I am REALLY going to miss our LONG phone conversations . Some were way over an hour long.
I still have some pictures of when you went to visit your Mom when she moved down to Florida. Some, we had gone onto Skype on the computer . I remember your Mom's surprised look as she saw me talking to her from the computer !
We kept talking about your driving up here, and we would drive up to REPUBLIC , where our families had started. Sadly, that never happened.

I'm so very sorry to hear of Kris' passing. I have many wonderful memories of her. We met because of her husband Ken's genealogy research. He found me (his second cousin) on the internet and we became great friends. On a visit to meet them in person, she introduced me to Baba Ganoush, something I'd never heard of. On a trip to the cherry festival in Traverse City a few years later, she recommended the Outlander series of books which became my all time favorite. She was fascinating to talk to and so knowledgeable that I was always a bit in awe of her. Though we mostly lost touch after Ken's death, my heart is very sad at her passing but I know Ken is very happy to see her again. Til we meet again. ♥

I've only been emailing with Kris for a few years. We came together because of her involvement and love of Latin Mass. She attended the faith community of families devoted to Latin Mass, in the basement of St Mary's Cathedral, Lansing. That community has now opened a new location as St John XXIII, near Lansing. She supported my son, Abbe Paul, in his studies at St Philip Neri Seminary, near Florence, Italy. She was very generous to him, and always expressed interest in his devotion and development, to the Church, and in particular, service through Latin Mass. She much deserves her rewards now, in Heaven with Jesus. May her family find peace and comfort today.

Hi John, sorry to receive news of your mothers recent death on Wednesday May 14th, 2020.. I read your mothers obituary and remember many of our family get togethers from 1970 to 1980 in the Lansing area. Christine was always friendly and kind. She was a real good mother and spouse.. Your mother and dad were a source of great support and happiness for me and my family and are fondly remembered and missed.

Kris and I were penfriends from about the age of 12 , me in England and her in the US. We wrote to each other for many years (on blue airmail letters) with a gap in the middle when we were both busy being wives and mothers. But we got in touch again in the 1990s and were e-mailing each other until just before her death. We did not always see eye to eye on everything - religion and politics! - but managed to find plenty to talk about. I came to see her when I was in North America for a week and had a lovely time. I met John and Ken and several of Kris' friends. I also met Kathy , Craig and Cooper when they were in England. Kris and I had an unusual but rewarding friendship which meant a lot to me.

I am so glad Kathy and John were with Kris during her last week. She was devoted to her family and very proud of her grandson, Cooper.
Kris loved teaching her Bible study classes, loved interacting with the people there.
I will miss Kris. She was such an intelligent woman, a great conversationalist with a wide range of interests and great fun.
She will enjoy this next part of the journey of life.

Kris was one of the sweetest women I have ever known. She was so selfless and giving, so thoughtful of others. Kris really knew how to reach into your heart and draw out only the best in you! She was a beautiful example of what it means to be a lady. She was graceful, charming, funny, warm, inviting, genuine, modest, cheerful, talented, creative, intelligent, and wise. Kristine Robertson was a forever friend!!!
