Linda Sue Gerdes of East Lansing and Lake Isabella, Michigan passed away on Friday, September 19, 2025. She was born on February 18, 1960, Bryan, Ohio to John "Ivan" and Nina Grigg (Grigorenko) (nee Zimbaluk). She grew up in Camden, MI on her parent's turkey farm.
She is survived by her children, Katie Gerdes of New York City and Nick Gerdes of Grand Rapids; husband of over 30 years, Andy Gerdes; sister, Irene Crapo; cousin, Vasily ("Nick") Belikov; and her family in Kyiv, Ukraine.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Joanna Grigg; and brother, Edward Grigg.
Linda adored her children and made it known to everyone how immensely proud she was of them. Linda was a faithful woman. She was a parishioner at St. Thomas Aquinas for over 30 years.
Linda was a Spartan. She received her bachelor's in advertising in 1983 and a master's in advertising in 1984. She graduated from Camden Frontier High School in 1978.
Linda was an entrepreneur. She founded Grigg Media in 1997. She was so proud of her business and, most importantly, the relationships she built over the last four decades. Her professional connections often turned into friendships, with many feeling like family. She was a top salesperson at WILS Radio, WFMK, WLNS (Channel 6), and WILX (Channel 10) before starting Grigg Media. Linda was also an adjunct advertising professor at Michigan State for 15 years.
She was proud of her Ukrainian heritage and stayed close with her family in Kyiv.
Linda was a lover of people and animals. Her dogs, Sparty, Belle, Marley, Remy, and Kiki, lived very good lives under her care with not-so-sneaky sharing of popcorn and other treats. She was a generous person, always willing to share whatever she had, which she learned from her mother, Nina.
