Emma (Lorraine) Carr, age 95, of Eaton Rapids, formerly of Laingsburg, died peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, January 11, 2020. She was born at home on January 15, 1924 in Lansing, Michigan, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry and Mildred (Wilkins) Carr. She and Charles Irvin were united in marriage on January 28, 1950. He preceded her in death on July 17, 2009.
Lorraine was a busy homemaker, raising her five children. She loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed embroidering and quilting, playing Scrabble, bird watching, collecting coins, bells and thimbles and rooting for the Detroit Lions, the Detroit Tigers and the University of Michigan.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband; step-son, James Irvin; daughter, Marie Kinsey; mother, Mildred (Wilkins) Carr and brother, Thomas Carr. Surviving are step-son, Richard (Linda) Irvin; sons, Thomas Irvin and Paul (Judy) Irvin; daughters, Kathleen (Doug) Franz and Julie (Paul) Willard; sixteen grandchildren and twenty three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 17, 2020, 9 a.m., Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 1730 East Grand River Avenue, East Lansing with Rev. Wes Emerson officiating.
Interment will be in East Lawn Memory Gardens in Okemos.
The family will receive friends Thursday, January 16, 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
