

Margaret Ann “Pud” Evans was born in Mendon, Ohio on June 29, 1931, as the daughter of Wavel and Stella Yocum and was the fifth of six children. She passed away peacefully at Bickford Cottage in Okemos, on October 13, 2015 at the age of 84. Margaret graduated from Carson City High School and Olivet College. She married her high school sweetheart, Jay “Sug” Evans on March 25, 1951. She was a stay at home mom who taught piano lessons and was a seamstress. She purchased and ran a restaurant, Pud’s Pizza Pit in Otsego, Michigan. She later worked in collections at Allegan General Hospital and eventually retired due to health issues. Margaret enjoyed knitting, fishing, music, playing cards, dominoes, and golf; and was proud of her hole in one. She adored her dog, Dolly. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Scott Evans; her brothers; Bill, Richard and Jack Yocum; and her sister, Marion Wheeler. Surviving is her beloved husband, Jay; her children; Michael Evans, Susan C. (Russ) Suor, Tracy (Brad) Ballein; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and her sister, Phyllis Ross. Her honesty, integrity and sense of humor were loved and will be missed by her many friends and family.
A funeral will be held at 11:00a.m. on Friday, October 16, 2015 at Riverview Church, 3585 East Willoughby Rd., Holt, MI. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service.
