Born September 2, 1922, Maria died peacefully on October 1, 2011 after a prolonged chronic illness. She earned degrees in pharmacy and foreign languages after attending the University of Sofia, Bulgaria, the Sorbonne in Paris, France and Michigan State University in East Lansing. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Dr. Nikolay Dimitrov.
A memorial service will take place on Monday, October 10, 2011 at 5:30 p.m. at St. Andrew Orthodox Catholic Church, 1216 Greencrest, East Lansing, MI.
