Born October 26, 1921 in Lincoln, Nebraska, the daughter of the late William and Garnet (Wells) Hunt, passed away June 5, 2013 at the age of 91. Marian graduated from the University of Nebraska. She met and married the love of her life, Milo Benjamin Tesar in 1944 and they relocated to East Lansing in 1949. Marian worked for MSU Department of Education and served as a dedicated volunteer within her community, as a member of the East Lansing Planning Commission, the Girl Scouts, MSU Community Club and past president of the East Lansing Woman’s Club. Marian was an active member of The Peoples Church for over 60 years. She chose, as her primary life role, to be a loving wife, mother and grandmother to her family. She succeeded beautifully; we love her and will miss her. Marian was a loyal MSU Spartan fan and loved listening to Ernie Harwell announcing Detroit Tigers baseball. Preceded in death by her parents; sister, Luella (Malcolm) McMillan; and her beloved husband, Milo Benjamin. Surviving to cherish her memory are her children, Robert Tesar of Chicago, IL, Ann (Charles) Christian of Minnetonka, MN, Joyce (Rolf) Bates of Portage, MI, Janet (Stuart) Terrell of Lake, MI; grandchildren, Brandon, Zachary and Justin Tesar, Kyle Ann (David) Herring, Brian (Michelle) Christian, Kevin (Jana) Christian, Katie Bates, Lauren (James) Mill, Mollie Bates, Christopher and Robert Terrell; great–grandchildren, Logan, Ella and Connor Christian; as well as many nieces and nephews. A private service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Marian to MSU’s 4H Children’s Gardens, University Advancement Spartan Way, 535 Chestnut Rd, Rm 300, East Lansing, MI 48824 or to The Peoples Church, 200 W. Grand River Ave., E. Lansing, MI 48823. The family extends sincere appreciation to the staff at Burcham Hills, Dr. Carol Rapson, friend and care provider Vicki Monroe and family friend Brian Graff for their care and loving support of Marian.
