Marilyn J. Keyworth, our beloved mother, age 89 passed away in the comfort of her home, on January 13, 2022. Marilyn was born June 9, 1932 in Lansing, Michigan to Flossie Beatrice Hicks Whitney and Frank Alman Whitney. Marilyn lived her life to the fullest with the LOVE of her life, Jerry. Marilyn was a classy woman who enjoyed being a true lady. She treated everyone she met with kindness and acceptance. She made friends wherever she went and was always there for others. Marilyn was full of laughter, spontaneity, and passion. She loved to have fun and go on adventures with her family and friends. She enjoyed collecting sea shells needle work, reading and tending to her husband's memorial garden. Most importantly she was a devoted wife and mother who was the center of her precious family. She will be missed by all who knew her, but especially by her son David S. Keyworth (Polly); her daughter Dianne E. Harris (Jeffrey); her daughter Linda J. Wilson; her son Curtis S. Keyworth; her daughter Wendy Karkau; her sister Nancy Myers; her grandchildren: Rachel Keyworth, Jenna Keyworth, Kayla Harris, Amanda Gleason, Shelby Dawn Keyworth, Eric Karkau (Jamie), Shaya Baird (Tony), David Karkau (Laura); and her great grandchildren: Victoria Karkau, Mary-Grace Karkau, Gabriel Karkau and Nathanael Karkau and her very dear friend Cheryl Smith.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her beloved and cherished, husband of 45 years, Jerrold H. Keyworth; her parents Frank A. Whitney Sr. and Flossie B. Whitney; her brother Frank A. Whitney Jr.; and her treasured kitty and constant companion Jem, whom she held in life and in death.
A visitation for Marilyn will be held Friday, January 21, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home, 1730 East Grand River Ave, East Lansing, MI 48823. A funeral service will occur Saturday, January 22, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home East Lansing. Burial to follow at Deepdale Cemetery.
