Mary Kathryn Schmidt-Tucker

Mary grew up in St. Johns, MI. She became a certified registered nurse before she met and married Donald Schmidt. They resided in Perry, MI where Don built their home on rural land. They had a small farm and raised their 6 children. Though Donald passed before the children were grown, Mary continued the farm with her children a number of years. Mary was a deeply devout woman. She always loved to garden. Coffee and watching her busy birdfeeders and seed planning filled her mornings; children and grandchildren filled her afternoons.

Mary was the beloved wife of the late Donald J. Schmidt from first marriage and James Tucker from second marriage; loving mother of Kurt Donald (Giancarlo) Schmidt, Cynthia Lyn McDaniel, Gwyn Marie (Larry) March, Janet Lee Busse, Carole Beth (Timothy) Simon and Jennifer Ruth (Scott) Menapace; cherished grandmother of Alexandria, Jordan, Taylor, Lucas, Garrett, Dalton, Rayce, Michael, Ruby, Drustin and Savannah; great grandmother of Ian; and sister of Robert, James, Bruce and Ruth Ann.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, March 29, 2023 from 10:00am until the time of the funeral mass at 11am at St. Mary Catholic Church 509 N. Main St. Morrice, MI 48857. Interment to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Owosso, MI.
