Died June 9, 2012 at the age of 98. May was born in Dimondale, MI on November 20, 1913, the daughter of Alfred and Hazel (Bennett) Hines. She is predeceased by her parents, Husband Manuel Pereida Sr.; brother Clinton Hines; and great-grandson Gavin Pereida. Surviving are daughters Reva Lerch of Lessburg, FL, Janette Williams of Tucson, AZ, and Patricia Foster of Columbia, SC; sons Gary Pereida of Wesley Chapel, FL, and Charles Pereida of Naples, FL; 12 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
May graduated from Dimondale High School in 1931. Prior to retirement May was a manager for Federal’s Department Store women’s wear department, and later for Match Makers Fashions.
Funeral services will be held at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 1730 E. Grand River Ave., East Lansing, MI 48823 on Thursday, June 14, 2012, at 2:00 PM. The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM until the time of service. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Lansing. On line condolences may be made at www.greastlansing.com
