Nancy Olivia Reed

Surrounded by loving family and friends, Nancy Olivia Reed, age 66, died on November 9, 2013, after battling a long illness. Nancy Olivia was born in Columbus, Ohio, on August 1, 1947, to Charles and Christine Reed. She retired from a long career in teaching in the Howell Public Schools. Nancy Olivia was a long-time member of The Peoples Church of East Lansing, where she sang in the choir and served as a design maven for special events and holiday décor. For many years, Nancy Olivia sang with the MSU Choral Union. She was an artist, enjoying oil painting, sewing, gardening, decorating, designing, and creating beauty wherever she was present.

Nancy Olivia was preceded in death by her parents, Charles F. Reed, DVM, and Christine B. Reed, and her brother, Scott H. Reed. She is survived by her niece, Sara Reed Hatlen (Tim) and her nephew, Stanley Reed, all of Spokane, Washington, several cousins, and many dear friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Contributions in Nancy Olivia’s memory may be made to the Music Fund at The Peoples Church of East Lansing, 200 E. Grand River, East Lansing, MI 48823.
