Palace loved to fish and read the Bible.
He is predeceased by his parents, Palace Mayes, Sr. and Willa Mae Mayes of Paducah and brothers, Jimmy Dee and Jack Henry Mayes.
Survived by his Wife; Dorothy Mayes, Daughters; Deborah Dexter, Darlene Miller, Shelia Mason and Janet Aden; brothers, Jill (Irene) Mayes of Toledo, Ohio and Ken Mayes of Louisville, Kentucky and a host of grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
