He is the one of the reasons I did so well in my science career.  He was a positive person and kept things interesting.  My background in basic science has served me so well over the years.  His smile and good nature will also be missed.  My thoughts to his family.

I have so many great memories, I am not sure which ones to share, but you know you were my second dad, we shared many laughs and many tears. You will always be close to my heart. Until we meet again, Rest In Peace, the best is yet to come. With much love...

From 1967-1977, we were like family with your parents and you guys.  I have nothing but good memories.  Just know that you were loved and you all are amazing humans.😀. Please accept our sincere condolences for losing your wonderful father, husband and grandfather.  Gary and I both enjoyed working with Phil, Craig and Pat as our insurance agents over many years. I also had the pleasure of working with Phil for many years as a fellow teacher at ELHS. We shared many good laughs and stories in the faculty center, and I had great respect for him as a creative teacher who really enjoyed his students. He has left an important legacy for his family, clients and students and will be remembered fondly by all. 

Pat and Family … We are so sorry for your loss.  Phil was a good neighbor and friend.  We enjoyed our time at the lake with both of you.

Mr. Winston was my Biology teacher at ELHS in the 1968-1969 school year. He had a self-effacing, quick sense of humor and made himself so very relatable. I still laugh about the time he told us how he successfully invited himself to a party already underway by gallantly offering to drop everything and go over to test whether cold or warm water freezes faster. 

Mr. Winston taught me always to consider the broadest possible picture when solving a problem. This wisdom has been a touchstone over the decades of my life, thanks to this gifted teacher. 

Always the gentleman, the one word above all that describes Mr. Winston is KINDNESS. I will always appreciate and be grateful for his fine example of humanity. 

Mr. Winston was my HS biology teacher. He could be a prankster. One day, upon arrival to class I found a large horseshoe type magnet sitting at my table. He had previously placed a handful of nails concealed on the underside, knowing I would pick up the magnet! I have a feeling I was not the only one to have experienced that prank. When I began my teaching career, I had heard about MEEMIC Insurance. Much to my surprise, Phil ended up as my agent for many years. Then finally, many years later, Phil and I crossed paths again through a Community Ed class. What a lovely man he was. I will always cherish our friendship.

My condolences go out to Craig and his wife and Phil’s wife, Pat Parker and their families.  Many prayers for all of you in this sad time.  I have sold Meemic Insurance for 30 years in October and have many memories of all the summer and winter meetings with you all and your families and with Pat Parker when she worked for the home office. Track is a sport of great wins and devastating losses -- especially for young men in their teens.  Although in some ways a team sport, there is also more of an individuality around each race or event.  Coach Phil always knew the right words to help a young athlete pick themselves up after loss and not get to cocky after a victory.  He will be greatly missed.
