

Raymond D. Burns, of Clearwater, FL; formerly of Farmington Hills and Lansing, MI passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2015 at the age of 91. He was born June 19, 1924, in Sligo, PA, the son of Earl Burns and Floye Lucille Campbell. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Louise Osburn Burns, his parents, brother Ted Burns and sister Betty Burns Kroh. He is survived by his daughter, Candis Burns, his son Raymond W. (Bill) Burns and wife June Burns; grandchildren, Jeff Newell (Elizabeth), Craig Burns (Gaudencia), Karrie Francis (Robert), Brandy Burns, Nicholas Newell, Sara Burns and 10 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, all of whom loved him and who he dearly loved. Ray will be remembered as a devoted and loving husband to his wife of 67 years, a wonderful father and grandfather, a moral compass for his family, and a fun-loving friend. Ray is a war veteran of WW2, a graduate of GMI, and a GM executive. He was an avid outdoorsman with a passion for hunting and fishing. He was also a member of the Scottish Rites Masons, in Perry, MI. Ray was actively involved in the various communities he lived in, including Lansing, MI, Farmington Hills, MI, and Clearwater Beach, FL.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 from 5pm to 8pm at Gorsline Runciman, 900 E. Michigan Ave, Lansing, MI. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 8, at 1 pm at Gorsline Runciman, 900 E. Michigan Avenue. Interment will take place following the funeral service at Rose Lawn Cemetery, Perry, MI.
