Richard Comming

Richard Comming, in my experience, was the supportive love in my life and others he has encountered. He went above and beyond to be the best father to his son, Samuel Coming, and always a loving companion toward his former spouse, Patricia Ann Smith. He always kept an extremely close relationship with his grandchildren, Juanita Rose Comming, Izabell Anicia Comming, Ryan Jin Comming, and step-grandson, Raymond Lincolnhol. He always visited his sisters, Beverly Bell and Rose Frazier, to see how they are doing and was always present for precious moments in both of their lives, especially their weddings, walking both down the aisle - what a big brother does for his siblings. As an uncle, he was always there for his nephews, Emmit JR Richardson, Earl Richardson, Paul and Tony Rogers, and Brandon Richardson. He was involved in the community by coaching, boxing, and working with champions such Tommy Gunnz Washington Jr and Tyrone Fist of Fury Harris and others.

He enjoyed spending time with his friends in his spare time and providing entertainment to make others feel good by singing on karaoke nights and competitions. Richard, you will never be forgotten and your impact on others will always remain. You are in a place of no pain and suffering. Enjoy your newness in life.

My grandpa did everything to help my sister and I to succeed in life. He gave us the resources to push through the hard times. He made sure that we were taken care of and that we were loved. We are extremely grateful to have a grandpa like Richard.

Richard was not only a hero in war, but a hero as our grandfather.

Richard provided loving care for his daughter-in-law, Yili Jin Comming, who he cherished as a daughter. He also kept a loving and close long-distance relationship with his entire family in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

A funeral service for Richard will be held on Sunday, November 12, 2023 at 1:00 PM, with a one-hour prior visitation from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, at Gorsline Runciman East Chapel, 1730 East Grand River Ave., East Lansing, MI 48823. Richard will be laid to rest on Monday, November 13, 2023 at 1:30 PM at Fort Custer National Cemetery, 15501 Dickman Rd., Augusta, MI 49012.
