Robert "Bob" Edward Lee

Bob was born on July 13, 1939, in Scranton, Pennsylvania, to Delores Lee. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy as a Petty Officer Third Class and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal. On April 21, 1966, he married his beloved wife, Bonnie Jane Wicker, beginning a committed partnership that spanned 60 years.

Bob spent the entirety of his working career in the footwear industry, and he often spoke proudly of his time at the Sebago Corporation. In 1981, Bob and Bonnie moved to Okemos, where they became devoted parishioners of St. John’s Student Parish / St. Thomas Aquinas. His faith was an important part of his life, and he could always be found in church each Sunday.

Bob was an avid Michigan State University sports fan, well known for enthusiastically cheering on the Spartans. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and keeping up with the latest findings from Consumer Reports. A true jack of all trades, Bob would attempt to fix just about anything.

Bob was a mentor and friend to many. He was respected and admired by colleagues, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Above all, Bob was a devoted husband and a proud father. He was a caretaker to his beloved wife, Bonnie, showing unwavering love and commitment throughout their life together.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the many friends and family who supported them during this difficult time - whether by providing meals, offering rides, or simply keeping Bonnie company and caring for her.

Bob is survived by his wife, Bonnie Lee; his children, Michael Lee, Timothy Lee, Shannon Petroff, and Lauren (Mark) Birchmeier; grandchildren, Owen (Olivia) Petroff, Emma (Annabelle) Petroff, Annie Petroff, Andrew (Kiersten) Birchmeier, Abigail (Jacob) Dix, and Aaron Birchmeier; great-grandchildren, Elliston James Birchmeier and Ivy May Dix; and sister-in-law, Virginia Lee.

He was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Cathy (Frank) Gavern; his brother, Jack Lee; and his mother, Delores Lee.

Bob will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at 11:00 AM at St. Thomas Aquinas, 915 Alton Rd., East Lansing, MI 48823, Father Corey Bilodeau presiding.
