Sharon Kay Simpson, a lifelong resident of Lansing, passed away on August 24, 2025 at the age of 89. Sharon was a woman of great creativity with a passion for the “small” details in life. She enjoyed miniatures, needle point, crocheting, watercolor painting, piano and creating items for her family members, including miniature wool teddy bears. The majority of her time was spent between her two loves in life: her grandkids and bingo. For most of their childhood, Colleen and Patrick spent every Tuesday night with Grams. She attended every event that she could and truly loved supporting her family. On the nights she wasn’t with the grandkids, you could find her at the local Bingo Hall with Lady Luck on her side. Sharon dedicated 38 years to her work at Auto Owners Insurance. She will be dearly missed by her daughter, Terri (Geoffrey); and her grandchildren, Colleen (Karisma) and Patrick. Sharon was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara (Daniel) Foote.
Visitation will begin at 10am on Wednesday, September 3, 2025 with a service beginning at 11am at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes in East Lansing.
Donations in Sharon’s memory may be made to the Parkinson Foundation or your local music scholarship fund.
