Takabvako Chiwocha-Crowell, 50, of Lansing, Michigan, residing in Fort Worth, Texas passed away February 16, 2025. Taka was born on March 7th, 1974 in Lansing Michigan. She was the third daughter of Tapera and Callista Chiwocha.
Taka has had a life with travel spanning from her youth spent in East Lansing, Michigan, to her unique experiences she had as a teenager attending a private boarding school, (Peterhouse) in her parents home land Zimbabwe.
It was during her experiences abroad she developed a strong work ethic and nurtured her love to help others. In her professional life, Taka pursued and became an excellent nurse. In this capacity she served the community and always was available to lend a helping hand to friends and family in need. Her greatest joys in life came when she joined her husband, Dan Crowell in marriage in 2005, and they began a family of their own.
Taka had two daughters Aiyana and Danielle, who brought her great joy and happiness in her life. Motherhood came secondhand to her because she was already a beloved aunt to her many nieces and nephews. Taka was the kind of person that made you feel special. She valued people and relationships. She made time for people she cared about. Each one of her nieces and nephews had their own special connection and closeness with her.
Taka was in a nutshell... FUN. She was charismatic, spontaneous, and she loved adventure. There was never a boring moment with her around. She was going to see the sights, visit different places and try new things. She had a love for life and in the time she was here, she lived it to its fullest.
Her daughters, husband, family and friends were blessed to experience her kindness, her friendship and her love.
Taka is survived by two sisters, Tsiidzoyedu Chiwocha 52, and Ita Chiwocha 54. She leaves behind a brother, Tapera Chiwocha Jr.,36, her mother Callista 71.
She is preceded in death by her sister, Dr. Farai Chiwocha, and her father Dr. Tapera Chiwocha.
It is noteworthy to mention that Taka fought hard to see her daughters reach the age of maturity. She held on to life and was able to see them as adults that could make their way in the world. Now with peace she can finally rest.
