
Dr. Thomas E. Lewis was born on November 27, 1924 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the son of Thomas and Carrie (Ranft) Lewis, and passed away July 7, 2015 at the age of 90. Thomas proudly served his country in the United States Army serving in both WWII and the Korean Conflict. Following his tour of duty he practiced medicine in Flint, MI from 1955 through the mid 1990’s and became a resident of Okemos in 1991. Throughout his lifetime he loved wood-working and fishing and especially loved turkey dinners with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Barbara Jane. Surviving to cherish his memory are his beloved wife Billee whom he married on October 12, 1951; children, Rebecca Lewis, Harriette “Hank” (Ken Freedman) Lewis, Heidi (Charles) DeCamp; grandchildren, Emily (Keenan) Gibbons, Elizabeth DeCamp, Sam DeCamp, Harry Freedman, Daisy Freedman; great grandchild Vella Gibbons and several nieces and nephews.
