For all my family - Can't begin to express in words the love that Pete & I have for you. We are keeping you in our thoughts and prayers. May you be wonderfully comforted by the God that we love; the God that Tom loved and loves as well. We know that he, as a believer in and follower of Jesus, is experiencing that fullness of joy promised by The Lord in Psalm 16:11
Upon our last visit together I had the precious opportunity to express to him my great love and gratitude for his (and you my sister) taking Mom and I in to your home and for all the love  and care that both Tom and you provided for us. He was moved to tears. In his presence I felt nothing but great love and acceptance which was shown in so very many, many ways throughout the years from my childhood until the present. We rejoice for him being in the presence of the Lord, perfectly healed and whole! But will miss him beyond our words to express.
Mega bunches of love for you Billee, Becky, Charlie & Heidi (and all your family); Hank & Ken (and all your family). We love you so much!

Billee, Rebecca, and the entire Family of Thomas E. Lewis:  Please accept my deepest sympathy in the loss of your Husband, Father, Grandfather, and more!  Your Father was also my Family Physician for many years, as my Mother, Ruth Ardesson, was one of your Father's medical assistant's at his Richfield Road office.  I remember him as a quiet, gentle soul, who always took very good care of us, and my Mother enjoyed many years in his employ.  You were very blessed to have him with you for so many years.  He, and my Mother were the same age, but unfortunately, I lost her 20 years ago.  Cherish your memories, and know that GOD has promised us everlasting life, for those who believe in him, and we shall see one another again.  Sending hugs and prayers!

 I will always remember Dr. Lewis. He was our family Dr. way before I was brought into the world, along with the help of him bringing me into the world. He helped bring most of my siblings into the world as well. With there being 8 of us. Then later in life after graduating from high school I was honored to be employed by him working in his office as a receptionist along with one of my fellow class mates. I had the pleasure of meeting the family during that time. I'm sorry for your loss. I know he will be truly missed. I also was able to work with him in an office where he was filling in after he had retired from his own practice. It was so good to see him again after all the many years had passed. He was a good Dr. for our family.
He was a good hearted man. My thoughts and prayers are with the family during this time of loss. May God give you all comfort and strength.

Dr. Lewis was my Dr as a young girl and up into my late 20's he cared for me throughout my pregnancy and if not for a c-section he would have been the deliverer of my son. He was always very kind to my family. My heartfelt prayers for the family. R.I.P. Dr Lewis.

Dr. Lewis cared for our family  for 40 years with the greatest capability and compassion.  Please accept our sincere and heartfelt sympathy in this time of sorrow.

We were sorry to hear of Tom's passing and are praying for God's comfort for each one of his family.  He was a wonderful doctor and friend and we have many wonderful memories of him.  We attended Riverdale Baptist Church together.  Jud was Tom's auto mechanic for many years.  Dr. Lewis had a giving heart that cared about people and his God.  Thankful that we will see him again one day in Heaven!

Dr. Lewis was one of my first employers, during summers in my college years. I truly don't think he really needed me. He just wanted to help a young man with leanings toward missionary medicine get his "feet wet." I was working in his office on the day he let me return a long distance call to MSU to learn I had been accepted to medical school. His quiet example gave me my first lessons on being a physician.

I would like to say more about Dad. He was witty and very intelligent but also kind and compassionate. He cared very much for his patients and when I lived in Florida he would come with a list of those spending the winter within a few hours drive of where I lived and visit them. He was a great father to my sisters and I, and a very loving grandfather and great-grandfather and husband. He did love fishing and also photography and woodworking. He was an active member in the Baptist Church (in Flint and later East Lansing) until he could no longer attend services. 
  He was the youngest of nine children. His father died when he was six-years-old. He sold vanilla door to door to raise money for his family growing up. He was a proud Eagle Scout and belonged to an organization of teenaged boys "protecting the home front" in the early years of WWII. He joined the army after graduating from high school. He was honorably discharged and joined up again during the Korean war having become a medical doctor in the meantime. He was in Korea for a year and served part of that time in a MASH unit. He married my mother, Billee on October 12th, 1951 and was in Korea when I was born in December of 1952. My sister, (Barbara) Jane was born in January of 1953 and Heidi and Hank (Harriette) were born in December of 1958. My mother Billee loves to hear me read the comments here and on facebook about my dad. 
We are not having a funeral for dad and he did not want anyone to send flowers. Last Christmas he asked us to give donations to the Lansing Food Bank instead of giving him gifts, which was typical of my generous father. We do plan to have a small gathering to celebrate his long life which was such a blessing to us all.

Doug and I are sad to hear for Dr. Lewis' passing.  May God comfort your family in this time of loss.  Psalms 91:4. Dr, Lewis loved fishing and was so caring when our Daughter had a severe case of poison ivy from church camp.  Peace!!

What a great man touching so many lives. My heart goes out to his family love and prayers to all for comfort. Many,many memories of such a hard working dedicated man, with a great love for his family and community.
