

He was raised in Bessemer, MI and graduated from A.D. Johnston High School. He served in the Michigan Army National Guard and worked at the Geneva-Davis Mine for a decade until he made the decision to shift his vocation and further his education. He graduated in 1963 with honors from Coyne Electrical School in Chicago.
Will married Norma (Stevenson) on February 21, 1953, in Wakefield, MI where they lived and worked until they settled in Lansing.
Known as “Bill” by his coworkers, his career as an electrician at the Lansing GM Car Assembly Plant in the Oldsmobile Dynamometer Lab spanned thirty years.
Will was known for his strong work ethic, love of his hometown in the U.P. and the Straits of Mackinac, endless tinkering with electronics on his home workbench, and his storytelling of family history. He will be remembered for his humble spirit, generosity, and exceptionally great hugs.
He is survived by his wife, Norma of nearly 70 years; son, Jay (Liz); and daughter, Lee Ann Erie (Mark); two grandchildren, Sarah Boyer (Ryan) and Trevor; and two great-grandchildren, Jonathan and Henry Boyer.
A private memorial will be held at a later date.
