In Loving Memory of Yin Ping Lee August 18, 1938 – August 28, 2025 Yin Ping Lee, the beloved matriarch of our family — devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend — passed away at home on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at the age of 87. Born in Guangzhou, China, on August 18, 1938, she was the only child of Loan On and Guai Phong Tom. After spending part of her early life in Guangzhou, she moved to Hong Kong, where she met and married, Gar John Lee. Together, they built a life of courage, sacrifice, and deep family devotion. In 1973, Yin Ping and her family immigrated from Hong Kong to Lansing, Michigan. A former teacher, she gave up her career and made countless sacrifices to ensure a better future for her children. Her strength, humility, and resilience shaped the lives of those around her and left a legacy of love. Yin Ping was everything a mother and grandmother could be: nurturing, generous, and endlessly selfless with a heart of forgiveness. She put her family above all else and met life’s challenges with grace, never once complaining—even in illness. Her gentle spirit found joy in simple pleasures: shopping, loved watching Chinese TV shows, listening to uplifting music, mocha frappes, and especially caring for her cherished grandson, Ian. She is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Gar John Lee. She is survived by her three children: PoWah (Josh) Isaak, BoYee Lee, and William Lee; and by her grandson, Ian, whom she adored. Her life was a testament to quiet strength, unwavering love, and the power of family.
