Alan Martin

Born July 11, 1940 in Flintstone, Maryland to Launy and Cecila (Kubes) Martin; he married Betty Jo Ausmus on February 17, 1967 in Peoria, Illinois. She survives.

Also surviving are their children, Lonnie (Terri) Martin of Springfield, Ohio and Charles (Kelli) Martin of Peoria; nine grandchildren; one great granddaughter; his brother, Kent of Halethorpe, Maryland and his sister, Jean Eddy of Aurora, Illinois.

Alan was a US Navy veteran.

He spent 20 years working at the Pabst Brewing Company in Peoria, last working as a Fermentation Operator until the brewery closed.

He later worked at Carter Lumber where he enjoyed helping customers.

Alan will be remembered as a gentle giant who loved his family and was always willing to help others.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, February 18th at El Vista Baptist Church in Peoria with memorial visitation one hour prior to the service. Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria assisted the family with cremation arrangements.

The family request no flowers be sent but suggest memorials to the American Heart Association.
