

Creve Coeur – Barbara A. Hart, 75, of Creve Coeur, IL passed away Friday, January 20, 2012 at her residence with her family by her side. Barb was born January 25, 1936 in Wayne City, IL to Ades A. and Thelma R. (Richardson) Epperson.
Surviving are her two daughters; Teri (David) Sammis of Peoria, IL, and Debi (Kirk) Anderson of Tremont, IL, her son Bill (Vicki) Hart of Pekin, IL, 8 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, her brothers; Kenneth (Thelma) Epperson of Ottawa, IL, and Stanley (Corey) Epperson of Maine, and her sisters; Darlene (Jim) Coppejans of Geneseo, IL, and Peggy (Wil) Blundy of East Peoria, IL. Barb was preceded in death by her parents.
Barb worked for Illinois Piping Corporation as a bookkeeper retiring in 1999. Barb loved to spend time with family and friends. She also found time to be very involved in her community. Barb was a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church since 1978. She was a member of the East Peoria Historical Society and very involved with local politics. Barb ran for State Representative of the 89th District in 1992, a member of the Democratic Women’s Association, Democratic precinct committee person, on the Democratic Central Committee, Co-chair of the Tazewell County Democratic Party, on the board of trustees of Groveland Township, a member of the Creve Coeur Village Board, volunteer with the Creve Coeur Rendezvous Days, a graduate of East Peoria High School in 1954, and on the East Peoria Alumni board and high school alumni scholarship board. Barb also enjoyed bowling and watching the Chicago Cubs.
A memorial visitation will be held from 4 – 7 pm Wednesday January 25, 2012 at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria, IL. Cremation rites have been accorded.
