Bernard James Stolin

He was born July 29, 1925 in Pekin, IL. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1942 to 1946. He married Katherine Durham in November 1946.

Bernard is survived by his wife of 69 years; one son, James of East Peoria; three daughters, Kathy (Mike) Harr of Morton, Cheryl (Uwe) Janssen of Temecula, CA, and Monica (Marlin) Gunns of La Habra Heights, CA; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and one sister, JoAnn Oest of Topeka.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Clara Stolin, two brothers, Louis Stolin and Anthony Stolin, one grandchild and one great-grandchild.

He worked in shipping for Caterpillar until his retirement. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and the outdoors. He was an honorary member of the AMA (American Motorcycle Association) and the PMC (Peoria Motorcycle Club).

Funeral services will be at 12 pm Saturday, February 20, 2016 at Oak Grove Evangelical Bible Church. Visitation will be an hour prior to services. Pastor Cliff Elliott will officiate.

Burial will be in Oak Grove Evangelical Bible Church Cemetery.
