He was born November 10, 1944 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Charles Wesley and Phyllis (Anderson) Hudnall II, he married Dana McEldowney in Washington, Illinois on December 22, 1993. She survives.
Charles is also survived by his son, Ricard Hudnall and daughters, Cheryl Parsons and Nicole Snow; one brother, Bill Hudnall; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and father-in-law, John McEldowney.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Debbie; grandson, Mark; grandmother, Phyllis McEldowney and brother-in-law, Donney McEldowney.
Charles was one of the founding members of Vietnam Veterans of Illinois (VVI) in Sunnyland. He was the first president of the organization.
He was known for his honesty and hardworking nature. He earned the respect of all who knew him through his steadfast commitment to his beliefs and his willingness to tackle any challenge head-on. Whether in his professional pursuits or personal endeavors, Charles never shied away from hard work or difficult decisions.
Charles was also a devoted Vikings fan.
Above all, Charles will be remembered as one of the bravest and toughest individuals. His spirit and refusal to yield in the face of adversity served as an inspiration to all who knew him.
Visitation will be held Saturday, March 9, 2024 from 5-7:00 p.m. at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria, with funeral service to immediately follow. Pastor Vernon Risner will officiate.
Cremation rites have been accorded, Remmert Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made in Charles name to Illinois CancerCare or Vietnam Veterans of Illinois (VVI) Sunnyland.
