She was born on November 29, 1941 in East St. Louis, IL to the late Daniel Smith and Arietta M. (Martin) Lostutter. She married Lawrence "Gene" Ratledge on September 23, 1989 and were together until his passing on February 11, 2005.
Danya and her husband Gene were the owners of Marigold Family Restaurant in Pekin on June 12, 1992. She was recognized by the Pekin Daily Times as a Pekin Woman of Business.
She loved to crochet, put together puzzles, and playing card games with her family. Danya was a self taught organ and piano player. She also kept a beautiful garden that her neighbors would come by and compliment her hard work.
Danya is survived by her children, Keith (Tasha) Notter, Nancy Notter, and Marilyn (Jon) Garrison; her grandchildren, James Glass, Toni (Nate) Seppelt, Cody Notter, Bailey (Nicholas) Garrison, Mckenzie Welbourne, Chloe Garrison, Sylvia Notter, Ami Notter, and Vivian Notter; her great grandchildren, Kylee Atwood, Breeona Atwood, Zaidyn Seppelt, Kady Notter, Willow Timke, and Steve Welbourne; her sister-in-law, Marilyn Lostutter; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She is preceded by her parents; her husband, Gene; her son, Donald Ray Corley II; 3 brothers; and 1 sister.
A Visitation will be held on Friday, May 8, 2026 from 11 am to 12 pm, with a graveside service directly following at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin, IL.
Memorial Contributions in honor of Danya can be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the National Kidney Foundation.
