Delora F. Stinnett

Delora F. Stinnett, 98 of East Peoria, formerly of Mexico, MO, passed away at 4:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at Rosewood Care Center in East Peoria. She was born on her family’s farm June 12, 1916 in Benton City, Missouri to Alvin R. and Bessie M. Foreman Miller. She married Roscoe Righter in February of 1935. She later married Russell W. Stinnett in Brookfield, Illinois October 30, 1948. He preceded her in death January 5, 2003 in Peoria. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Lawrence Miller.

She is survived by her daughter Joann (Duane) Hibser of East Peoria; grandson, Andrew A. Hibser of East Peoria; two great-grandchildren, Ericka and Michael Hibser; sister, Thelma Bevell of Columbia, MO; and several nieces and nephews.

Delora worked with her husband in their business, Stinnett Window Company for over 30 years, retiring in 1982. She was a member of East Peoria’s Women’s Club since 1950; was a member of First United Methodist Church in East Peoria, where she served on many committees for over 60 years.

Funeral services for Delora will be at 11:00 a.m Monday, September 8, 2014 at the First United Methodist Church in East Peoria. Rev. Mary Arnold will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m Sunday, September 7, 2014 at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria, and one hour prior to services at the church on Monday Burial will take place at Fondulac Cemetery, East Peoria.
