Doris R. Glazebrook Paris

East Peoria – Doris R. Paris, 91, of East Peoria, IL passed away peacefully with family by her side Friday, Sept. 23, 2016 at Washington Christian Village. She was born April 3, 1925 in Peoria, IL to Homer and Myrtle (Hanlin) Glazebrook. Doris married James N. Paris on Jan. 12, 1952 in Peoria. He precedes her in death.

Surviving are her children: Lori (Keith) Rider of East Peoria, IL, Nicholas (Gretel) Paris of Elizabethtown, KY, Jay (Donna) Paris of Princeton, KY, and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. Doris was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sons, and three brothers.

Doris was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking; vegetable and floral gardening; and spending time with her family and friends. Her love for God and family shaped her life and could be seen in her volunteering. In her early years she taught Sunday School, was a Sunday School Superintendent, hosted missionaries, was a member of the Mary and Martha Prayer Group, and was a Cub Scouts Troop Leader. Doris was a member of Grace Bible Church and later Fellowship Bible Church both in Peoria.

Services will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2016 at Remmert Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10 – 11 am Wednesday. Interment will be in Fondulac Cemetery.
