Edward John Turner, Sr.

He was born on January 4, 1945 in Peoria, a son of Louis Alexander and Anna (Payton) Turner. He married Linda D. Pittman on May 22, 1965 in Creve Coeur. She preceded him in death on January 6, 1989 in Peoria.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; son, Edward “Rudy” Turner, Jr.; two sisters; one brother; and one son-in-law, Byron Stewart, Jr.

Surviving is his two daughters, Doris “DJ” Stewart of South Pekin and Rachel Turner of Pekin; one daughter-in-law, Barbara Jones; six grandchildren, Jessica Stewart, Braden Turner, MaKylah Turner, Tyler Williams, Shylynn Upchurch, Drake Williams; and three great-grandchildren, Linda Burhans, James Burhans, and Devon Upchurch.

Edward was a foreman at Komatsu for over 20 years, retiring in 1998. He enjoyed spending time with his family, being outdoors, camping, fishing, and building things.

Edward's funeral service will be at 2:00 pm Thursday, October 28, 2021 at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria. Pastor Nathan Noyes will officiate. Burial will follow at Parkview Cemetery in Peoria. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
