Elaine Jennifer Townsend

Elaine Jennifer Townsend, 78, of Morton, passed away on Friday, October 27, 2023 at the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria. She was born on November 24, 1944 in Danbury, Connecticut, a daughter of John Pudelka and Anna (Scalzo) Pudelka. Elaine married Robert C. Townsend on August 19, 1967 in Danbury, Connecticut. He survives.

She is also survived by two children, Dawn (Bill) Parlier of Creve Coeur and Rob (Jennifer) Townsend of Olathe, Kansas; two granddaughters, Nora and Gwen Townsend, both of Olathe, Kansas; one sister, Joan Capozza of Las Cruces, New Mexico; and one nephew, two nieces, and two great nephews.

Elaine was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, John Pudelka; one sister-in-law, Eileen Pudelka; and one brother-in-law, Vinny Capozza.

She last worked as a manager for Super Liquors in Peoria, working there 23 years, retiring in 2006.

Elaine attended Summit Point Church in East Peoria, where she took pleasure in giving snacks to children after school and giving gifts during the holiday season. She had a passion for reading, watching TV shows and movies, preparing holiday and family gathering meals, and crafting her special lasagna.

Elaine's celebration of life service will be at 6:00 pm on Thursday, November 2, 2023 at the Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria. Pastor Mike Klopfenstein will officiate.
