

She was born on September 10, 1923 near Buncombe, Illinois on the family farm, daughter of Clifton and Jennie (Caraker) Merriman. Glenna married Glenn E. Griffith on January 25, 1946 in Anna, Illinois. He preceded her in death on June 16, 1987. She was also preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Gordon E.; infant granddaughter, Amber Marie Ballard; and one brother, Fred.
Glenna is survived by one sister, Mabel Carter; two sons, and a daughter, all of Peoria: Calvin (Tina) Griffith, Jack (Sue) Griffith, and Brenda (Richard) Robertson. Glenna was blessed with six grandchildren: Angie Cluck, Chad Ballard, Jason Robertson, Tiffany Kuhl, Tony Rodriquez, Nathan Griffith, and seven great grandchildren.
Glenna was a longtime member of Christian Assembly Church where she taught Sunday school for many years. She was currently a member of the New Heights Fellowship Church for the last years of her life where she was a faithful servant in fixing communion. She loved our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with her whole heart and was a dedicated servant.
Before marriage Glenna worked at a shoe factory in Anna, Illinois; she then moved to Moline and worked for John Deere. As a wife she spent all of her time raising her children and taking care of her husband and home.
Glenna’s visitation will be Wednesday, February 6, 2013 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with her Funeral Services at 1:00 p.m. at Remmert Funeral Home, 521 E. Washington St, East Peoria, Illinois. Pastor Paul Trilikis will officiate. Graveside services will be the following day, Thursday, February 7, 2013 at 2 p.m., at Ebeneezer Hall Cemetery, down by Lick Creek, Illinois, officiated by Kenny Merriman.
