James "Fred" Osborn

He was born March 15, 1923 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri to Frank and Myrtle (Powers) Osborn. He married Ruth Shirrell on December 23, 1944. She died September 2, 1989. He later married Bonnie R. Osborn in Washington, Illinois on December 8, 1990. She survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Wanda Field; one granddaughter, Julie (Steve) Hindel; four step children, Jim (Dodi) Young, Jeff Young, Sherri Young, Susie (John) Phillips; three step grandchildren, Debbie (Luke) Prudoehl, Jenny Young, John Michael Phillips Jr.; and five step great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers; and one sister.

Fred worked as a mechanic for Navistar for over 30 years before retiring. He enjoyed gardening, camping, fishing, his dog Buddy and spending time with his family.

He was a member of Bayview Baptist Church in Washington where visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, September 13. Funeral Services will be on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Church with Rev. Keith Thibo officiating. Additional visitation will be one hour before services Friday at Church. Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria is in charge of arrangements. Burial will be at Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria.
