Joyce Louise Hill

Joyce L. Hill, 92, of Peoria, passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at Red Oak Estates, in Canton. Born in Ogema, MN, on February 7, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Christopher F. and Elizabeth L. (Tibedeau) Humbert. She moved to Peoria in 1954. Joyce married Albert Baker and together they had five children. On May 25, 1973, she married William D. Hill, and they blended their large family. He preceded her in death on March 14, 2007.

Survivors include two sons, Albert Baker and David Baker; two daughters, Terry Jo Baker and Connie Baker; four step-sons, Robert (Deanne) Hill, John Hill, Roland "Scott" (Diane) Hill, and Christopher (Mindy) Hill; two step-daughters, Susan Hill and Bobette (Darrell) Hill; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother, Lawrence Humbert. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Aside from her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by, a son, James Baker; a step-daughter, Theresa Hill; a daughter-in-law, Mollie Baker; two brothers, LeRoy Humbert and Kenneth Humbert; and three sisters, Marie (Floyd) Dalman, Delores (Robert) Cookman, and Helene Silk.

Joyce was a nurse for many years and was last employed with Bellwood Nursing Home. She was a member of the American Legion and attended Bethel Lutheran Church.

Visitation will take place on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at Remmert Funeral Home, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Lutheran Cemetery.
