

Link was born on August 25, 1943 in Carrollton, to Cecil and Martha (Herron) Norris. They preceded him in death.
He is also preceded in death by his daughters, Nancy Norris, and Robin Veteto; and his brothers, Don Norris, Larry Norris, Everett Norris, and Cecil Norris; and his former first wife and the mother of his children, Lois B. (Fugate) Norris.
Link is survived by his sons, Mark (Susan) Norris of Chillicothe, Mike (Diana) Norris of Pekin, and Kenny Norris of Peoria; his grandchildren, Jessica Norris, Joseph (Erin) Norris, Elizabeth (Kyle) Doerr, Nicholas (Lindsey) Norris, Katie Norris, Kody Norris, Haley Norris, Emma Norris, Dani Norris, Danielle (Matt) Norris, Christopher Nassar, Cecilia Nassar, Angela Sophia Nassar, John (Gretchen) Kleparski, Will Norris, Benjamin Norris, Kristy Engelke, and Eddie Engelke; his great-grandchildren Etta Doerr, Lainey Doerr, Jack Norris, Charlie Grant, Persephone Johnson, and Iris Johnson; three sisters in-law, Beverly Norris, Gladys Norris, and Carole Norris; and many beloved family and friends including his lifelong best friend, Bud Prater.
He was a proud veteran, serving for the United States Army in the 101st Airborne from 1960-1963. He worked for several companies, retiring from Caterpillar as a machine repairman and foreman. He owned and operated the original Tee Shirt World in Chillicothe.
Link was of Christian faith, and actively attended church. He was a hardworking man with a variety of skills and a jack of all trades. He was always willing to help others. As a former foster child, he opened his home to many foster children over the years. He cherished spending his time with his family, camping, fishing, and taking special trips to Disney World with his grandchildren.
A service will be held on Monday, October 9, 2023, at 1pm, at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria, with a visitation starting at 11am. Cremation Rites and Military Honors have been accorded.
Memorials can be made to the General Downing Veterans' Home of Peoria, or the Children's Home Association of Illinois (CHAIL).
