Marilisa Jurasas

With heartfelt love and remembrance, we honor the life of Mari Jurasas, who passed away peacefully on July 25, 2025, at the age of 84.

A Life of Love and Resilience

Mari was born on August 18, 1940, in Lucca, Italy, to Giulia and Ghino Bargellini. She immigrated to the United States with her family in 1950 and was raised in Cicero, Illinois, where she graduated from Morton East High School in 1959. It was there she met her first husband, Algirdas (John) Jurasas, whom she married in 1960.

Later in life, Mari shared many joyful years with her second husband, Jim Olsen, in Arkansas, where they built a home filled with laughter and love.

Family Was Her Heart

Mari is survived by her beloved children and their families:

• Eric Jurasas and his wife Mary

• Jon Paul Jurasas and his partner Lori Ann

• Stephanie Davila and her husband Lou

She was a proud grandmother to seven grandchildren, who brought her endless joy:

• Rosie, Josephine, Gale, and Edie Jurasas

• Louie, Jon, and Sophie Davila

Remembering Mari

Mari will be fondly remembered for her deep love for her family, her exceptional cooking and baking—especially during the holidays—and her sharp, witty sense of humor that brought light and laughter to every room. Her home was a place of welcome, her meals brought people together, and her presence offered warmth and comfort.

She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, joy, and unwavering devotion to those she loved.
