He was born August 21, 1947 in Peoria, IL to Louie and Elizabeth (Fields) Curtis.
Surviving are his children, Bryan Curtis of Texas and Skylar (Virginia) Simmons of Warrenton, VA; grandchildren, Quinton Curtis, Julian Simmons and Gawain Simmons; siblings, Daniel (Laura) Curtis of Canton, Stephen Curtis of Brimfield, Tonya Harrison of Sunnyland, Robin Wheeler of Little America, and Candy Curtis of Bartonville.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Tammy, Rhonda and Georgeanne.
Michael was a machinist at Caterpillar, Inc. retiring in 2010.
He was a big fan of music, cool clothes, and classic cars. He also enjoyed the Indy 500 and attended the race many times.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Monday, October 13, 2025 at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria. Burial will follow at Parkview Cemetery in Peoria, IL.
