Neva Roselyn Gordon

Neva was born on March 15, 1922 in Mattoon, Illinois to Frances Lee and Grace V. (Rowley) Janes. She married Francis Gordon on January 1, 1941 in Chillicothe, Illinois. He preceded her in death in August of 1987.

Neva is survived by four generations. She and Francis raised seven children and were blessed with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death are two of her children, one grandson and ten brothers and sisters.

Neva was a realtor in the Peoria area until 1978 when she moved to Arizona and sold real estate there as well. She was a den mother for Cub Scouts and troop leader for Girls Scouts, a 59 year member and past matron for the Order of the Eastern Star Creve Coeur Chapter #946 and was a member of the Madison Ave. United Methodist Church for over 50 years until she moved to the Eureka United Methodist Church last year.

Services will be held on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at 11:00 am at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria with visitation beginning at 9:00 am. Eastern Star services will be at 10:45 am. Rev. Joy Schelessman will be officiating. Burial will be at Swan Lake Memory Garden in Peoria. Memorials may be made to the Eastern Star Creve Coeur Chapter #946, Eureka UMC, the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
