

Peggy Ann Leadley, 87, of Peoria, passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Carle Health Methodist Hospital. Born in Avon, on June 26, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Bert and Virginia (Spradlin) Stephenson. On July 14, 1979, she married Arnold Charles "Charley" Leadley in Safety Harbor, FL. He preceded her in death on June 24, 1987.
Surviving Peggy is her daughter, Sherrie Weber; grandson, Jeremy (Melissa) Weber; a great-grandson, Skylar Weber; and her nieces and nephews, Don (Tracy) McCloud, Audrey McCloud, Steve (Courtney) McCloud, Camden McCloud, Caiden McCloud, Caleb McCloud, Tammy McLain, Heather McClain, Dakota McLain, Karen (Rich) Duley, Wayne Ratliff, Sarah Gibbons, Harlow Morris, Jimmy Dawson, and Cody Dawson. Aside from her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Bonnie (Dave) Leadley and Norma Jean Dawson.
Peggy worked as a bartender for many years, including at Creve Coeur Club, the IVY Club, and most recently at Par-A-Dice. She was a 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, first with the Cloverleaf Chapter and most recently with the Mystic Tie Chapter #245. She enjoyed bowling, traveling, gardening, spending time with "Bubba" the cockatoo, and watching westerns on television. She never knew a stranger.
Visitation will take place on Friday, April 3, 2026, at Remmert Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Swan Lake Memory Gardens.
