Rita Mae Lung

Rita was preceded in death by her parents George and Maxine Lung, as well as her brother Ralph Lung.She is survived by her sister Barbara Sue(Randy) Waldrip of Metamora, Nieces Libby(Mike) Northrip-Jonassen, and Penny(Curt) Waldrip-Peithman, Nephew Patrick Lung, great nephew Simon Northrip, and great niece Daphne Northrip, as well as numerous cousins. Rita is also survived by her beloved dog Toby.

She was a member of Crossroads United Methodist Church in Bloomington, Indiana for over 50 years. Rita worked at Indiana University in the communications department for over 30 years. She was known as "the lady that loves owls" referring to the phrase "Wise men still seek him". The family expresses great thanks to everyone at Snyder Village for their love and support.

Visitation will be held at Remmert Funeral home Saturday March 14th at 2pm with services to follow. A committal service will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, March 19, 2024 in Valhalla Memory Gardens Chapel in Bloomington, IN. Friends and family are invite to gather at 1:30pm until the time of service at the chapel. Day & Deremiah Frye Funeral home in Bloomington, IN will be in charge of local arrangements.
