Mr. Herman Charles Peterson

Herman Peterson, age 93, of Kennesaw went home to be with the Lord on September 1, 2011. He was an active member of First Baptist Church Woodstock and formally an active member of Jefferson Avenue Baptist Church in East Point, Ga for over 30 years. He was born in Allegan, Michigan and after proudly serving in the U.S. Army in World War II he resided in East Point, Georgia for 52 years with his loving wife, June Bacon Peterson who preceded him June 8, 1997. He retired from the Ford Motor Company after 32 years. He had a special passion for gardening, fishing and working on various projects in his workshop. He is survived by 3 sons and 1 daughter and their families. Charles and wife Frankie and their daughter Jacqueline; David and his son Jeremy; Jimmy and wife Lynne and their son, Paul; and daughter Kathy Peterson Maebert; brother Carl and wife Marie; sister Grace Hobbs; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 3, 2011 at 2:00p.m. at Jefferson Avenue Baptist Church in East Point with the family receiving friends an hour prior. Interment, Forest Hills Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, if you would like, contributions can be made to Jefferson Avenue Baptist Church of East Point, Ga.
