Kathleen Marie Maxwell (“Kitty”) Gordon went to be with her Lord on 17 June 2011 at age 92. She was born on May 20, 1919, in Cornelia, Georgia. She married A.S. “Scotty” Gordon on April 18, 1941, and they recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary together. A deeply committed Christian, she was active in many different ministries at Colonial Hills Baptist Church in East Point, and later at First Baptist Church of Forest Park. She loved to travel, to welcome guests, and above all to help people.
She is survived by her husband, Scotty, their son, David, and her daughter-in-law, Melodye. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. Services will be at Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home, 2968 East Point St., East Point, Georgia ( (404) 761-1138) at 11 am Tuesday, 21 June, 2011. Interment College Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6-8pm at the funeral home
