Kathleen Root

Kathleen C. Root, age 94, of East Point, GA passed away on November 11, 2013. Kathleen is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, F. H. “Rocky” Root; son, Clayton Root; daughters, Beverly Lamar and Linda Shepherd; grandchildren, John Gilbert, Julie Malcolm, Matt Gilbert, Drew McDanel, Kelly Frilot, John Harrell, Lanny White, Mark White, and Pat White; and 9 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Judy Lee Arnold. The family wishes to thank Sharon, Carol, Carrie, Hillary, and Roberta for their love and kindness and faithfulness. Funeral services will be held in the chapel at Historical Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home, East Point, GA on Thursday, November 14, 2013 at 2:00 pm. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 from 6:00pm-8:00pm. Interment at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in College Park, GA following the service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Shepherd Center.
