Ann Riddick Murrell Jones, 86 of Flat Rock, AL died April 19, 2013. Raised in the Saint Elmo area, she graduated from Chattanooga High School and went on to graduate from the University of Tennessee with a degree in Civil Engineering. She was a member of the Kappa Delta Sorority at the University of Tennessee
She lived most of her adult life on a small farm in northeast Alabama raising various herbs, her favorite being rosemary. She was retired from Provident Life and Accident.
Mrs. Jones is preceded in death by her husband Thompson Wolle Jones, her father Edward Garrett Murrell, her mother Mary Mabel Murrell, her brother Edward “Sonny” Murrell, and her sister Mary Mabel Fitch.
She is survived by her children Edward (Carla) Jones, Lucia Beiler, Judith Jones, and Benjamin (Nancy) Jones and grandchildren Sadie-Anne, Rebekkah, Jared, and Hannah as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM Tuesday at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Reverend Dale Watson officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hills Cemetery.
The family will receive from 6-8 Monday evening and form 11-12 Tuesday at the funeral home.
